Blessing N Blaai’s (@khanblaai) work mainly deals with the exploration of spaces and the relationship between living beings (humans, animals, and nature itself) and man-made spaces. The aim is to show how the two entities, man-made spaces and living things, complement each other if there is an adequate balance within their interaction or relationship. However, when the artificial space (so to speak) becomes invasive, it not only destroys the more natural but also itself (far more than expected). He mainly juxtaposes the two in a manner that is appealing yet serious, to further highlight how the effects of this destruction can sometimes become easy to ignore because it seems like a norm (e.g. the irregularities in weather and temperature due to global warming and climate change is not taken as a serious issue or emergency in many young circles today). He also explores underlying themes such as trauma, death, abuse, and threat (within built spaces) both on the human psyche and on the environment.
